About Wishram School
- Wishram School is a Public School with enrollment of 105 students Kindergarten through 12^th grade. We are located in the Columbia Gorge, approximately 100 miles East of Vancouver, WA.
- Wishram School has 20 employees consisting of 10 teachers and 10 classified and administration staff.
Athletics
- Wishram School athletics is combined with Lyle School. Lyle School is about 20 miles to the West of Wishram. The Wishram mascot is a Rattler but the athletic teams are known as the Lyle/Wishram Cougars.
Interoffice Communications
- GOOGLE: We use GOOGLE for email and interoffice communications. We use GOOGLE CHAT for continuous communication throughout the day.
Traditions
1. - Friday’s are typically “casual day” the only day we are allowed to wear blue jeans to work. Professional appearance remains expected.
  - Friday’s are typically “treat day” we have a rotating schedule assigning one of the employees to bring treats for the staff room.
  - Administrators and other staff greet students each morning outside the front doors.
THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF
- - 2^nd Chances (& 1^st Chances) – Wishram is also known for its willingness to give people (students, staff, and community) a chance when others may have given up on them or disregarded their value. Sometimes that is a second chance for someone who has overcome challenges, and sometimes we simply see potential in an individual that other organizations will disregard. We are proud of this, and it has served the district well.
- - Helping each other: Wishram’s small staff and student body frequently go all out to put on fundraising events and community involvement events. It is amazing how the gym is transformed to meet the needs of the event and even more amazing is the way it is all returned to a gym that is ready for school the next day. This is only made possible because everyone – all the staff and all the students doing their part to help with these events even when it is not required.
