Mr. Churchwell's Week in Review & Next Week’s Schedule

Happy Friday Eve All!

I'm sending my week in review out Thursday evening, as I"m in my annual required WA State Bus Driver Trainer Class all day tomorrow in Vancouver WA at ESD 112. 

This week was full of energy and purpose, blending academics, athletics, and community connection. From statewide testing to staff appreciation and artistic celebrations, our students continue to demonstrate growth, resilience, and creativity. Thank you for keeping them at the heart of everything we do.

 This week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week—a time to recognize the incredible dedication, care, and impact our staff have on students and families every single day. Each day, we’ve honored our team with small surprises, goodies, and prize drawings as a token of our deep gratitude. Thank you for the heart and hard work you pour into this school community. You are truly appreciated.  

 Art, Expression, and Family Engagement
Last night’s REACH Family Art Night was a wonderful success! It was great to see students and families creating together, enjoying a meal, and building a stronger sense of community through art. Thank you to everyone who helped organize and support the event.

 Academic Milestones & Teamwork
Our students began SBAC testing this week. Thank you to our staff for maintaining a calm and supportive testing environment. These assessments help highlight our students’ learning and guide future instruction. We also appreciate the flexibility and coverage support during Mr. Churchwell’s absence for the Early Career Superintendents Conference.

 Athletics in Full Swing
Junior high and high school track teams stayed busy with meets at South Wasco, The Dalles, Bickleton, and Sherman County. We’re proud of their hard work and competitive spirit. Good luck to all athletes as they close out their seasons!

 Celebrating Our Team
This week we celebrated birthdays for Detmar McCullough and Marley Little—thank you both for the energy and care you bring to our school every day!
